EARLY LIFE
The Early Life theme aims to tackle critical issues in early life healthcare to enhance the health of infants and their families. The theme focuses on preterm birth and birth-related brain injuries, which are major contributors to the highest burden of death and disability throughout the lifespan.
LONG-TERM CONDITIONS IN CHILDHOOD
The Long-Term Conditions in Childhood theme aims to drive innovation to improve the care, mental wellbeing, and quality of life of children and young people with long-term conditions and rare diseases.
TRANSITION
The Transition theme supports the development of technology to ensure the safe and effective transition of young people with long-term conditions, life-limiting conditions, and rare diseases from paediatric to adult healthcare.
MIND-BODY INTEGRATION
The Mind-Body Integration theme is inspired by a growing recognition of the need to integrate support for physical and psychological needs. This theme aims to address bidirectional ‘brain-body’ interactions in order to target simultaneous physical and mental health therapies.
CHILD HEALTH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NETWORK
The Child Health Artificial Intelligence Network (CHAIN) theme will support NHS Trusts to develop capacity to utilise data to drive decision-making. This theme will also create and implement platforms and resources that utilise artificial intelligence and machine learning to benefit patients and healthcare professionals.
